The purpose of this is to advance the proposition that New York law and forum may be a good choice in many cases, assuming a decision has been made that U.S. law will apply. This is in part because of the provisions of New York General Obligations Law (GOL) Sections 5-1401 and 5-1402 (collectively, the GOL Provisions).
