Purpose of the WorldCC Council of Global Ambassadors

The World Commerce & Contracting Council of Global Ambassadors is structured to represent our membership and provide balanced regional, industry, and subject-matter representation. The Council of Global Ambassadors is a forum for people who want to raise their profile and contribute to the ongoing growth of our work and influence by supporting and promoting the Association’s mission, vision, strategic goals, and policy positions within your region, country, or industry.

Nominations process

You can nominate yourself or someone else to be a member of the WorldCC Council of Global Ambassadors. Nominations will be accepted from March 20 and will close on May 1, 2026.

In the nomination form, you will need to provide:

The voting period is May 8 to May 22, 2026, via Election Buddy.

Timeline

Members are invited to put themselves forward for the Global Council and represent either their region or a community.

They are voted for by fellow members in that region or community. To nominate yourself or a colleague, please complete the nomination form.

 

Position Summary

The WorldCC Council of Global Ambassador members serve as the head of the Local WorldCC Hub, advancing the organization's mission, vision, and goals within their local regional community. This role focuses on member engagement, program delivery, relationship-building, and operational coordination to ensure a vibrant, active Hub experience. Must act in accordance with the WorldCC Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Maintain a paid active WorldCC membership.

Appointment policy

WorldCC Council is an appointed non-governing body consisting of two parts:

  • Local Hub contacts
  • Community leads

Members of the WorldCC Council will be listed on the WorldCC website, with appropriate contact information. General communication with individual Council members may occur at any time, whilst formal consultations (by conference call or webinar) typically occur quarterly.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Governance

  • Provide overall leadership, vision, and direction for the hub.
  • Facilitate hub planning, including annual goals, programming, and engagement activities.
  • Coordinate and lead member meetings, ensuring productive discussion and clear action items.
  • Ensure the hub operations align with organizational policies, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain communication with global headquarters and submit required reports or updates.

 

Member Engagement & Recruitment

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for members.
  • Engage existing members through events, communications, and networking opportunities.
  • Support membership growth by promoting WorldCC events, hub activities, and inviting new participants.
  • Identify member needs, feedback, and opportunities for value-added programs.
  • Support WorldCC in engaging and converting guest members.

Programming & Events

  • Actively attend all WorldCC Council briefings and represent the membership of your community.
  • Plan, organize, and execute hub events such as quarterly member meetings, networking meetups, community service initiatives, and special programs.
  • Identify and coordinate with guest speakers, facilitators, and subject matter experts as needed.
  • The global headquarters will provide administrative and operational support for event registration and tracking.
  • External speaking opportunities representing WorldCC.
  • Promote and/or participate in Learning and Development and the professionalization of Contract and Commercial Management.
  • Advocating for local Hub members to adopt and adhere to the standard.

Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, train, and coordinate additional hub volunteers or hub committee members.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively and support volunteers in their roles.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative volunteer culture.
  • Lead and actively participate in WorldCC Local Hubs to develop a thriving body of CCM professionals across industries and topics.
  • Actively support WorldCC research by promoting participation in WorldCC surveys and suggestions for research studies.

Term Length

  • Two-year renewable term (or other term length designated by the organization).

Communication & Outreach

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the local hub.
  • Communicate regularly with members through the community platform, group messages, or other approved channels.
  • Promote hub activities on social media or other platforms (as appropriate).
  • Collaborate with organizational staff on brand-appropriate messaging and marketing support.
  • Write articles for WorldCC publications such as Contracting Excellence Journal and JSCAN, as well as external publications supporting WorldCC views.
  • Identify key partnership and collaboration opportunities to enhance the overall WorldCC Mission for ensuring all trading relationships provide social and economic benefit.
  • External speaking opportunities representing WorldCC.
  • Promote and/or participate in Learning and Development and the professionalisation of Contract and Commercial Management

Qualifying Criteria

  • Active WorldCC Member in Good Standing
    Must maintain current membership throughout the term of service.
  • Professional Credibility
    Demonstrated expertise or leadership within the field of commerce, contracting, procurement, legal, or a related discipline.
  • Ambassadorship & Advocacy
    Ability to promote WorldCC’s mission, programs, and value proposition to members and external stakeholders.

Time Commitment

  • Typically, 5-8 hours per month, depending on size and activity level.
  • Attendance at hub meetings, webinars, and WorldCC regional Summit.
  • Occasional participation in national or regional leadership calls or training.
  • Lead and be active in the discussions on the local hub community platform.
  • Support the associations’ efforts to increase membership by identifying and cultivating relationships with local potential corporate and individual members.

WorldCC Member Connect Meetings

Global Ambassadors host and facilitate member meetings within the local area. Member meetings can be held at a coffee shop, restaurant, or corporate office. Member meetings may be hosted as informal networking gatherings or as more structured sessions, such as a WorldCC-supported lunch-and-learn or workshop.
