In IACCM's study of international business in 2010, the biggest risk for those doing business with the US was their fear of the US legal system. Much of this is driven by a perception of uncontrolled litigation and large settlements that may have little merit, relative to their domestic standards.\r\n\r\nTherefore news of any cut-back in potential litigation is likely to be welcome news and certainly, given its economic woes, would be a smart move by US authorities.
