Most complex construction projects are delivered through Virtual Corporations (VCs) – temporary project specific organisations of clients, consultants and construction firms. These highly adaptable structures of independent companies have no hierarchy and no vertical integration. Their business meetings are usually held in portable steel container siteoffices, with participation by various roles in completing tasks or deliverables described by a Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RACI). Each partner contributes its 'core competency', resulting in a virtual syndicate of all the skills necessary. The main objective of such a syndicate is to configure a best of everything corporation.
