ATE - Developments in International Standards

Research clearly shows that a significant number of major outsourcing contracts and large commercial deals still go off the rails, and fail to deliver to the original business case. The results are often disappointing, and can result in termination of agreements and strategic relationships.The ISO committee which is drafting guidance on good industry practice in managing outsourcing contracts will be reviewing its proposed Draft International Standard in June, (ISO 37500 Outsourcing). IACCM members have an opportunity to review the latest draft of the proposed standard and provide input through the IACCM liaison representatives attending this ISO meeting. This call provides the latest information on the draft standard and discuss its content and the thinking and good industry practices it contains to encourage members comments and suggestions.The following topics will be covered: What does the standard cover? How can the standard help in addressing relationship challenges and governance Discussion of the standard's content and feedback Approach for IACCM members input to the ISO 37500 Standard CommitteeWe will provide a copy of the current draft (ISO/CD 37500) to members registering for the meeting.Our expert will be Adrian Quayle, who is chairing the work to draft the new outsourcing ISO standard, he will be accompanied by Paul Mallory who will be representing IACCM at the ISO June Meeting.Our Expert:Adrian Quayle - Managing Director, P & Q Consulting Ltd; Board Member, National Outsourcing Association; Chair ISO Committee on Outsourcing (ISO/PC 259)Following many years working with customers involved outsourcing across Europe and globally, Adrian focuses on helping organisations to foster and maintain effective collaborative relationships.  He is the Chair of the ISO Committee (ISO/PC 259) which is developing the international standard on Outsourcing. Adrian is a Member of the Advisory Council of the UK National Outsourcing Association (NOA).He was also a member of the committee that drafted both parts of British Standard BS 11000: Collaborative Business Relationships.
