This is the first in a series of reports that will address 'the top ten pitfalls in contract management'. \r
The ten pitfalls were initially identified from IACCM research undertaken in 2014 and subsequently validated through a series of executive roundtables and specific audits within member organizations. They represent the areas in which weaknesses in the contracting process cause revenue losses and / or cost overruns, as well as broader performance shortfalls that may result in damage to market reputation. \r
More than 700 organizations participated in the work that underlies the ten pitfalls. Approximately 300 contributed to this more detailed study of the first pitfall - lack of clarity in scope and goals.
