Angela Hoefnagels is Director of Circular Economy Policy at the Victorian Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. A strong advocate for effective and efficient environment policies, Angela leads teams delivering policies and programs that accelerate the transition to a circular economy and reduce harm to human health and the environment from pollution and waste.
While at DEECA Angela led development of Victoria’s circular economy policy and action plan, Recycling Victoria: a New Economy, and several projects under that policy, including Victoria’s container deposit scheme.

Before joining DEECA, Angela led policy development in a variety of areas for the Australian Government. In her capacity as a Review Director at the Climate Change Authority, she led work to review Australia’s emissions reduction targets and advise the Australian Government on emissions reduction policies.

As National Practice Group Leader of our Environment and Sustainable Development practice, Claire advises financial institutions, government and corporate clients on a wide range of sustainability related matters, with a particular interest in the circular economy, greenwashing, sustainability reporting disclosures, carbon transition plans and natural capital.
