Technology is changing the role of the Commercial and Contract Management professional which will result in 60% of what we do today being replaced by machines in the next 5 years. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so. I’ve got practical experience of how to drive systemic change in people, systems and processes to deliver real business value. Adrian Furner has 30+ years' experience in the design, implementation, and delivery of commercial transactions using a wide portfolio of models from the simple traditional models though to new and novel business models. He has worked in a variety of sectors including defence and security, aviation, technology, infrastructure, banking and financial services, creative industries, public sector, and natural resources.

As an experienced practitioner Adrian is focused on 'Commercial Excellence', supporting organizations in developing and leveraging their 'commercial acumen' to gain better business outcomes. This includes: raising their commercial awareness; designing and implementing innovation models; and deploying relational contracting to enhance business performance.

Adrian held a number of VP/Director level commercial, procurement, and operations roles within FTSE30 organisations, giving him significant cross-border international experience ranging from complex capital intensive projects, thought to lower complexity operational opportunities. This includes: multi-billion £, long term Private Finance Initiative (PFI) bids; joint venture creation and management; outsourced training management; portfolio management; asset financing; civil aircraft sale, leasing and broking; M&As; technology innovation investment; and fully financed naval ship reactivations.

Sally supports the World Commerce and Contracting global team in the pursuit of both the recognition of and excellence in Commercial and Contract Management. She is an experienced and accomplished commercial and contracts management professional, holding senior commercial positions at a range of corporate and multi-national organizations.

After gaining an Honors degree in Law, Sally spent her time in the house in the corporate sector, where she worked globally in the Telecomms and IT industries, before establishing her own legal and commercial consultancy in 2007. Sally is passionate about enabling business efficiency and growth through contracting and commercial excellence; she understands the need for robust business operations to drive these efficiencies, together with the requirement for effective communication and collaboration at all times. Stefania Passera, Contract Designer in Residence (World Commerce & Contracting), CEO (Passera Design)

Stefania Passera is a contract design and simplification expert based in Espoo, Finland. She runs her one-woman consultancy Passera Design, and is Contract Designer in Residence at World Commerce & Contracting. In these roles, she helps organizations transform their contracts and policies into user-friendly, effective tools that work better for business.

Stefania is an all-rounder, backing her design expertise with a solid academic background. She has served as Assistant Professor at the University of Vaasa, Department of Business Law, and has earned her doctoral degree from Aalto University School of Science. She has guest lectured at prestigious institutions such as Stanford University, Bucerius Center on the Legal Profession, KU Leuven, UC Louvain, European University Institute, ESADE Law School, and California Western School of Law.

She is a co-founder of the Legal Design Alliance, a co-author of the Legal Design Manifesto, and the creator of Legal Design Jam. In 2020, she has received the European Women of Legal Tech Award.

Sander Voorn is the Strategic Sourcing systems and process manager at Royal Dutch Shell where he has led the Source to Contract digital transformation over the past four years. During this time the S2C cycle-time was halved and major resourcing efficiency gains were realized. Prior to this, he developed and implemented Shell’s Supplier Performance Management best practices for its Arctic operations. Ensuring safe and efficient performance throughout its supply chain.
Sander’s first global digital transformation was in 2005 when he developed a global programme for the sourcing and management of Shell’s 10,000+ Contingent workforce. The transparency and control this enabled reduced Contingent Workforce cost by USD 60 Mln+ annually. Sander received his Master’s in International Economics & Economic Geography from the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

With more than 15 years of in-depth, practical experience, Mark is a recognized specialist in Legal Services innovation. Prior to joining Deloitte in January 2020, Mark was Head of Contracts, Compliance, and Commercial Services for a leading global alternative legal services provider (ALSP). There he led a team of 350 lawyers, paralegals, contract management professionals, legal technologists, and process experts, providing technology enabled legal managed services, and legal management consulting to multi-national organizations.

Mark also has considerable experience relating to the Ethics of Legal Outsourcing and has numerous articles and papers published dealing with the subject. He developed the first US State Bar MCLE Ethics and UK CPD courses on the ethical implications of outsourcing legal work. Mark sits on the Advisory Boards of Suffolk Law School’s Institute on Law Practice Technology and Innovation and Northwestern University Law School's Center for Practice Engagement and Innovation. In February 2016 he was elected as a Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management.

Linda is an Executive Vice President and Group Head of Commercial & Contract Management for Capgemini.

In her role she leads Commercial and Contract Management functions across various countries. Her key mission is to ensure that CCM brings commercial and contract excellence to the business helping to enable Capgemini’s clients to receive innovative services that deliver real business value.

Linda’s earlier career with Capgemini included technical, delivery, sales and account management roles, giving her insights into client needs from varied perspectives. Stewart Prizeman has over 24 years of experience in sales - working in both the UK, US and Internationally in the consumer goods industry on both direct and indirect sales as well as the B2B industries around the world. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Computing and Information Systems from Brighton University. Stewart started working in the UK, with international experience at Hasbro, EFI and Leapfrog Enterprises and has experience of working in large multinational and smaller enterprise businesses with global reach with a track record of success in both - a track record in managing profitable growth from retailers and distributors worldwide, also meeting sales and financial targets, and developing and implementing business plans at both local and international level in line with strategic goals. Barry joined the Civil Service in November 2015, having held a number of senior posts in the financial services, telecoms and automotive sectors spanning 30 years. Now Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Profession for the Ministry of Justice, Barry is the principle commercial advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister/Lord Chancellor/Secretary of State, and Permanent Secretary. This requires oversight of one of the largest outsourced portfolios in Whitehall covering a contracted spend in excess of £26bn across c4500 contacts. Responsibilities span the end-to-end commercial process from governance and policy, market stewardship, commissioning, sourcing, supplier management to mitigating third-party risk. Barry also oversees the operation of the department's national distribution centre, fleet and engineering services. More broadly, he is a member of the MoJ Investment Committee, Chair of the Commercial Oversight Group, and a regular attendee at the Audit and Risk Committee.

As a member of the Government Commercial Function’s leadership team, Barry is integral to the development of the public sector’s far-reaching procurement profession. He is also Chair of the Cabinet Office consulting triage board, member of the Infrastructure Projects Authority Steering Board and a Civil Service Reform Champion.

Through his work as a mentor and champion of women in procurement, Barry is able to leverage his position as a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply to contribute to achieving greater equality. Barry is a qualified marketeer and as one of the pioneers of marketing procurement, helped establish the Commercial Purchasing Action Group at ISBA. Over the last two decades I’ve lived in seven countries around the globe helping organisations to strategise and curate shared learning experiences through events and multi-media campaigns. Relationship building and bringing people together is my passion, and I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with a cross-section of industries from Financial Services to Energy, Transportation, Telecommunications, Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare. Today I live in Israel with two wild and wonderful daughters, two dysfunctional cats and a very supportive husband; human trafficking and neurodiversity are subjects close to my heart, and yoga is a central part of my everyday life. Bernadette Bulacan is a frequent speaker regarding the digital transformation of global enterprises. As Vice President and Lead Global Evangelist for Icertis, the recognized leader in enterprise contract lifecycle management, she is charged with sharing contract management best practices with legal and contracting teams and evangelizing the use of innovative technologies like AI/ML and blockchain. Prior to Icertis, Bernadette was a co-founder and Assistant General Counsel of Serengeti Law, which created e-billing and matter management platform, Serengeti Tracker (acquired by Thomson Reuters.) Dr Matthew Davis is an Associate Professor in Organisational Psychology at Leeds University Business School. Zaira Burlo is the SVP Customer Support, Services & Training Director of Leonardo. She graduated in Physics at the University of Trieste and attained an Executive Master degree at the European Business School in Munich.
She started her career as a Scientific Collaborator and IT consultant. In 1999 she joined Finmeccanica (now Leonardo) working in Training & Simulation on important Italian and European programs, being seconded in international companies such as Thales, Indra and Airbus. Since 2007 she assumed responsibilities in different functions of the Group as IPR, product strategies for cross-divisional projects, M&A and JV, then moving onto Strategic Planning and Strategic Marketing and participating in the definition of important commercial partnerships. John Dieffenbach is a Managing Director at EY where he manages a team of 11 Lead Negotiators on the Americas Strategic Deal Team. He has been a deal-maker and lead negotiator for some of the largest technology companies in the world and, for the past 30 years, has built and led teams of professionals to successfully sell, negotiate and close billions of dollars in complex, global services deals with clients such as AT&T, Pfizer, Exxon, Citibank, American Express, JP Morgan Chase, Telstra, Celcom, Accenture and IBM. John has a BA in English from Binghamton University; Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University and Juris Doctorate from Cornell University. He has published his blog, “Running the Room,” to worldwide acclaim for over 10 years. He currently resides in Los Angeles.

Dynamic, creative, and solutions-oriented professional with 3+ years at a small US and Netherlands based pharmaceutical company.
