I lead the deployment of new and exciting technology, principles and standards to elevate the role that Commercial and Contract Management (CCM) practitioners play from largely operational to increasingly strategic.

As a seasoned practitioner of the CCM discipline, I have over 34 years of experience in the complex, IT Services sector, running organisations that provided both buy-and sell-side capabilities. I supported major mergers and acquisition activities and am recognized as an ‘Expert’ in post-award contract management. I bring proven business acumen, innovative thinking and collaborative team working to benefit our association and its members.

Technology is changing the role of the Commercial and Contract Management professional which will result in 60% of what we do today being replaced by machines in the next 5 years. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so. I’ve got practical experience of how to drive systemic change in people, systems and processes to deliver real business value. That’s what excites me every day!

Amber Bass has 20+ years of contract management and legal operations experience and is currently the Sr. Strategic Services Director - Legal Ops for DocSign. She partners with Sales, Product, Product Marketing, Professional Services, Customer Success and others to share perspectives on the Legal/Legal Ops point of view and publish thought leadership content. Prior to joining DocuSign, Amber was Head of Legal Operations for LawGeex where she built out their US delivery center and managed contract services to support their artificial intelligence app. Previously, she was VP of Contracts,Compliance and Commercial Services for Integreon and UnitedLex - both global leaders in the delivery of outsourced legal services. Early in her career, she gained significant contract negotiation and management experience in various contract management roles with global companies such as Boeing, Sterling Commerce, IBM and as Director for Procurement for Fidelity. She holds a JD degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
